Job description
Due to exponential growth, there is now an opportunity and a requirement within a nationwide property management company for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager based in Tunbridge Wells.
As the Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor, you'll direct and manage compliance with the company safety programs to ensure company safety goals are met.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
Travelling to varies sites across the portfolio undertaking annual H&S audits in keeping with an agreed and act and report accordingly.
Ensure actions from external audits are completed.
Audit safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
Provide management and employees with information on legislative compliance, advising on ways of meeting statutory requirements and in-house HS&E Policies & Practices
Providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure the company achieves its HSEQ mission and objectives.
Ensure that risk assessments/safe systems of work requirements are met.
Proactively work with other areas of the businesses to develop SHE culture.
Working with the maintenance teams ensure operational activities on sites are carried out safely and legally.
Advise and assist site and office-based staff on all aspects of the company's, Health, Safety and Environmental and Energy systems and procedures.
Carry out risk, SSoW, and COSHH assessments, writing of method statements whilst ensuring compliance with H&S and legal obligations where required.
Review and updating generic RAMS, SSoW and COSHH assessments.
Assisting the business with the implementation of the project ISO45001 Safety Management System
Key Skills Required
Previous experience required working in a Health & Safety role.
IOSH certificate
NEBOSH or training to the NEBOSH certificate accreditation is beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge of H&S regulations and best practices
Knowledge/experience of working within an OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 Safety Management system.
Fully computer literate
Clean driving licence, as you will be required to travel to multiple sites across the country.
