Pet Claims Assessors
Salary: £22 - 26k (£24 - 28 k ote)
Hours: Full Time - Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Location: North End, Portsmouth or full time work from home
Training: Full Time training must be completed for first 3-5 weeks
MUST have 12 months experience in a pet insurance claims assessing role or 2 years as a RVN
Overview:
The main purpose of this role is to assess and validate Pet Insurance claims, gathering any necessary information required in an efficient manner. A strong candidate will be able to successfully perform and achieve productivity targets whilst also adhering to the claims process; being able to self-motivate and demonstrate being a team player at the same time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review incoming forms and ensure claims and pre-authorisations are settled within the Service Level Agreements
- Assessing new and continuation claim submissions by reviewing all claim documentation supplied
- Collating information from customers and veterinary practises to assess claims appropriately
- Ensuring prompt and accurate payment of valid claims and querying any anomalies and declining claims that are invalid
- Identifying potentially fraudulent claims and following agreed process for referral.
- Ensuring that high levels of customer service is offered through processing of accurate and timely information
- Maintaining a consistent and energetic approach whilst building rapport with internal and external customer to establish customer relations
- Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with all colleagues and customers, whilst promoting a professional image
- Develop and maintain a competent level of technical, product and system knowledge and be able to explain policy cover in line with terms and conditions
- Where applicable, to ensure that DPA, FCA, TCF and other regulatory requirements are met
- Understand business issues and recommend solutions to improve
- Commit to own personal development
- Provide support and guidance to others as required.
- To undertake other reasonable responsibilities and projects as instructed by their line manager
Essential Skills:
- Vet practice (e.g. vet nurse), medical or pharmaceutical experience or qualifications in these areas
- Excellent communication skills and strong team player
- Ability to multi-task
- High attention to detail
- Strong data entry and IT skills
- Flexible attitude to work - willingness to take on new tasks
- Ability to work on own initiative and remain motivated in a changing working environment
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working in an admin/contact centre or customer service environment
- Basic knowledge of insurance products and principles
