Legal Assistant
A well established and closely knit law firm is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Residential Property Department. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, self-driven, and eager to contribute to a small, dynamic team known for its supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position. The primary responsibility will be to offer comprehensive administrative support to a dedicated Solicitor within this busy department, while also being flexible enough to cover for other Assistants during absences.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Managing the progression of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
- Preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, transfers, and completion statements.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, and other solicitors to facilitate smooth communication.
- Conducting searches and gathering necessary documentation.
- Managing post-completion work, including handling Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions and registration formalities.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- Strong numerical skills and experience with legal billing.
- Exceptional organisational abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Capability to prioritise workloads independently, with minimal supervision.

This is a full-time, office-based position, offering working hours from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, at the firm's Haywards Heath location.
